Hey! It’s Marie :)
I fell in love with tattooing about 2 years ago. I spent some time looking for the right tattoo shop at first until I landed in La Catrina! Ever since then I have been dedicating my time to growing and learning as an artist by expanding my art style/mediums. I strive to provide a smooth and comfortable experience for all of my clients and love to create authentic connections with people through tattooing. I’m ready to collaborate with you!

Tattoo Aftercare
Congrats on your new ink! Some redness, swelling, bleeding, and burning is normal for the first couple of days.
Usually I’ll send you home with a clear bandage called DermShield. This bandage is water proof and may be left on for no longer than 24 hours. If your bandage begins to leak any blood or plasma remove the bandage immediately. I recommend removing it in the shower under warm running water. Do not lift up when removing as this may cause irritation! Try to gently pull sideways and you will see it come off like a command strip. Patience is key!
You will only need two items to care for your new tat: a gentle cleanser with no fragrances or dyes, and a good moisturizer.
I personally use Cerave bar soap to clean my tattoos. You should be cleaning your fresh tat with warm water at least once a day, plus after sweating or being exposed to dirt/dust. Avoid touching your tattoo with bare hands and use a clean towel or paper towel to dry.
Some light moisturizers you may use are Aveeno, Jergens, Cetaphil, Cerave. But I primarily reccomend a natural tattoo balm such as Tattoo Goo. Please avoid any petroleum based products as they may clog your pores! And make sure to moisturize at least once a day after cleaning or if you notice it is dry.
Here are some big no-no’s when it comes to aftercare. No matter how itchy or flaky it is, please don’t pick or scratch your new tattoo! Direct sun exposure for an extended period of time is also forbidden, as well as swimming pools, beaches, lakes, rivers, baths for the first three weeks. Wash hands after handling pets and avoid any direct contact with pet fur and your fresh tattoo. Treat it as an open wound!
